ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Troy, OH – 3,042 s.f.

Abbey Credit Union approached K4 to assist them with finding a new location in Troy, OH in order to relocate their existing local branch to a more visible and convenient area. The goal of the new location is to better service their members and also to design an attractive, modern, and contemporary branded facility that reflects the vision and forward-thinking mentality of their organization.

The design approach was to create a visible, open, and inviting facility using a variety of new products rather than traditional brick architecture, and also reflecting their branded colors both inside and out.

The vision for the project was to create an open and inviting facility, utilizing an adequate amount of glass combined with metal panels and canopies, and exterior tile products. The center section of the facility was raised and incorporated clerestory lighting to give the structure a more prominent appearance from the exterior and to also add to the grandness of the public lobby space, flooded with natural light. It was of utmost importance that the lobby be as open as possible to make it usable for events, a coffee area, and community use.
