ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Lousiville, KY – 16,844 s.f.

Autotruck Financial Credit Union had outgrown its former main office and enlisted K4 to design and build a new 2-story headquarters & branch. The challenge on this project was to design the headquarters in a manner that would allow for their projected growth over the next 10 years and be relatable and complementary to future smaller scale prototype branches in their expansion plans. The building houses a retail branch, the Loan & Operations departments, Accounting, Collections, Marketing, Executive Offices, and a new Board Room.

The use of brick, industrial metals, and clerestory lighting lend an industrial feel that ties the building to its automobile industry roots as Autotruck was originally for employees of the Ford Motor Company. The symbolism of truck tires were incorporated into the design of the ceilings in the lobby and board room, as well as the board room lights. The color scheme included shades of blues and neutrals, to complement Autotruck’s original brand elements.
