Citizens National Bank had an existing Loan Production Office that was very successful and decided they needed a full-service Retail Branch in the Toledo market. The management team of Citizens National Bank decided this location was the right demographic for a new branch and the LPO wanted to create a space to entertain and educate current and potential clients. The Lobby space includes a bar top with a sink, refrigerator, and countertop space for snacks and refreshments, that can also function as a tech bar, and K4 also created a seating area and open space for employees and customers to socialize.
The design challenges involved the sheer volume of the space. Ceiling heights varied from 11 feet to 24 feet in the same area. The K4 team worked to balance the proportions of the space in plan and elevation by adding dropped ceilings, clouds, and soffits so that the interiors space flowed naturally and worked together. Another major challenge was the 17 feet tall, panes of glass and the HVAC at the base of the exterior windows in the 24 ft space. By pulling the offices away from the exterior walls, and providing a new HVAC system with individualized controls K4 provided comfortable and functional offices in a unique space.
The palette of materials and colors that K4 selected were intended to continue to reinforce the brand and consistency of former Citizens National Bank projects.
