ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Dayton, OH – 4,505 s.f.

Firefighters & Company Federal Credit Union consulted K4 for their design expertise in reconfiguring their space, a firehouse replica that was outdated and spatially inefficient, as well as in need of brand consistency. K4 re-designed the entire interior to make it a more welcoming and functional space that allowed for additional offices and workspaces for the employees. The teller counter was re-oriented to make it more visible from the main entrance and allowing room for a larger waiting area.

In addition to the functionality of the reworked space, K4 also blended in historic elements of the original building and organization’s rich firehouse history to the design of the interior. A re-framing of original firehouse photos added to the interior/exterior cohesiveness and accompanies the wall mural of another original historic image. Although the furniture is new, an industrial feel adds to the re-purposed theme of the entire space. The unique design challenges of this project were the location of the original columns and re-positioning of the teller line around an existing drive through.

The space was originally designed in the 1980’s by a former K4 employee, re-designed by K4 in 2006 and again remodeled in 2021. K4 thanks Firefighters & Company Federal Credit Union for their continued confidence in their team.
