Tom & Chee is a fast-growing, popular restaurant chain that was recently acquired by Gold Star Chili. The design challenge was to elevate the customer experience to offer customers craveable comfort food in a fun, friendly environment. As a new prototype for the chain’s restaurant design, K4 needed to create a unique space that captured the essence of the brand while being easy to replicate as new locations are opened across the U.S.
The project, which was completed on an accelerated timeline, brought Tom & Chee to Cincinnati’s Eastern suburb of Anderson Township. The new location features interior graphics that capture the fun, approachable aspects of the Tom & Chee brand, including appetizing photos of sandwiches. The restaurant allows the convenience of ordering and paying before being seated, which is convenient for families, and a flexible mix of booth, bar and table seating.
