ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Cambridge City, IN – 3,175 s.f.

Wayne Bank & Trust Co. wanted their Cambridge City branch to reflect the rich historic character of the community, but they also wanted to update this charter location targeting Millennials and a younger audience. The design challenge was meshing classical design with modern amenities, which was satisfied by implementing traditional colonial elements on the exterior, combined with a modern interior.

The modern appearance of the exterior of the existing building did not blend with the surroundings and the historic character of Cambridge City so the Board of Directors and the Management Team of Wayne Bank requested K4 to develop concepts to make the facility blend with the traditional style of the downtown Cambridge streetscape. K4 introduced traditional design elements, such as a rounded portico with colonial columns and a heavy frieze band with dentils and crown molded profiles to blend with the traditional style of many of the surrounding buildings.

The modern interior gave K4 more flexibility and opportunity to blend new branding inside with colors, finishes, furniture, and graphics. The graphics pulled in elements unique to the town, from the feature wall mural to the history wall that highlights the rich history of Wayne Bank and Cambridge City.

Efficiency of the branch was improved by incorporating cutting edge technology and equipment with the interior design to allow the bank to continue to serve the community as it has for generations.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

“We wanted a building that complimented the historical charm of Cambridge City and an interior design that would showcase our state of the art banking technology. K4 has been a great partner, providing guidance and design in a systematic and organized fashion. Their design team was able to take our basic ideas and turn them into a spectacular building. We look forward to working with K4 on future projects.”
