ABOUT THIS PROJECT

West Milton, Ohio – 6000 s.f.

Abbey Credit Union saw the need for a new branch in West Milton, OH and began to evaluate facility opportunities of larger financial institutions in that area closing their branches. Considering the demographics of the area and their field of membership, Abbey reached out to K4 and asked if they would visit West Milton with them to evaluate some potential options. Following site visits and assessment, a former pharmacy facility emerged as the front runner because of its location and the opportunity that the building and site presented to fit the needs of Abbey Credit Union.

The pharmacy facility was a 6,000 SF building on 1.378 acres, with an existing front parking lot. The site permitted the addition of a three (3) lane drive-through to the left side of the building with the optimal traffic flow around the building exterior and excellent visibility from South Miami Street. K4 was excited about the site possibilities but also that the existing exterior was well poised for Abbey Credit Union brand conversion.

In addition to the drive-thru mentioned above, the facility exterior needed to be modified with the application of Abbey Credit Union brand elements such as the iconic tower, blade canopies over the windows, and new windows cut into the front and sides of the building. A consistent palette of materials were also applied, creating brand consistency to the recently constructed prototype branch facility in Troy, OH.

The interior was designed to accommodate both a 4,300 s.f. branch space as well as a 1,700 s.f. Community Room, each with their own separate entrance vestibule and restroom access, so the Community Room could be used after traditional business hours. The interior design of the branch is very similar to the Troy location and features two (2) teller pods, four (4) offices, a conference room, waiting area with refreshments, a teller work room, and an employee break room.
