Members Choice challenged K4 Architecture + Design to create a signature regional office visible from Interstate 64, with a strong central entry. The design was intended to serve as a reduced scaled prototype for future smaller branches, with the concept set to be applied to the Greenup branch in the near future.
The building unites Carter and surrounding counties' various members and community needs, welcoming them to a first-of-its-kind shared space that combines financial services with a community room and a bakery with dual, but not competing drive thru's.
This two-story regional office and retail branch feature a contemporary layout while showcasing the roots of the credit union's foundation. The first floor includes a 4,930 SF branch and administrative support, a 1,740 SF community room, and a 1,150 SF bakery retail tenant, Double Drizzle. The second floor, totaling 3,710 SF, contains loan and operations departments.
In crafting the graphic design for Member's Choice Credit Union, K4 faced the challenge of integrating the credit union's rich history while maintaining brand consistency. We successfully incorporated elements inspired by the steel industry, the foundation of the credit union, with some graphics printed directly onto brushed aluminum, serving as a constant reminder of its roots. As this was Member's Choice CU's inaugural project with K4, we collaborated extensively, exploring various concepts and coordinating with interior designers on patterns and colors to ensure a harmonious environment across all spaces.
Members Choice Credit Union is committed to serving Grayson residents and helping the community thrive financially. The office was designed with the latest technology for security and convenience, as well as personalized advice for members.
