Signet Federal Credit Union continued their partnership with K4 Architecture + Design in designing and building a new headquarters in the Paducah Kentucky community. The new two-story, 15,200 square foot main office is located across from West Kentucky Community and Technical College and provides a beautiful gateway to Pecan Drive. The site chosen posed an initial design challenge as it was located on a piece of property with a 23 ft grade change and K4 worked with their consultants to provide smooth transitions throughout the site.
This facility features drive-thru and lobby services, an ATM, and other traditional banking services. It is designed to allow Signet to position themselves for expanded staffing and continued growth, as they had outgrown their previous main office, and has the availability for an optional addition in the future.
Another design challenge was applying Signet’s signature single-story branded branch prototype exterior, designed by K4 for three other locations, to a two-story main office building. This included application of similar landscaping, lighting, brick color, accent brick, building proportions and the iconic tower feature. The height of the tower creates a visual beacon for their members to identify with their credit union.
The first floor features a break room, conference room, ten offices, storage areas and houses the retail branch. The second floor features a break room, board room, training room, huddle space and an additional 11 offices and 4 executive offices.
The K4 interior design team worked to connect each space with a seamless blend of functionality meets aesthetics, implementing throughout the facility interior a sophisticated take on Signet’s blue and orange brand colors. A focus on the vibrant blues, combined with soft neutrals and warm wood tones, blend well with pops of orange in the fabrics, artwork, and graphics to communicate brand expression from space to space. An incorporation of interior elements from the Signet branches - such as the teller line design, wood laminate, and metal finishes were also incorporated to continue brand consistency amongst facility types and throughout the network.
Signet Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution with the philosophy of people-helping-people. This Signet project allowed K4 to create improved efficiencies between employees and departments as well as improve interactions with credit union members.
