ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Blanchester, OH – 6,300 s.f.

United Dairy Farmers is a Cincinnati hometown favorite and leader at the forefront of the c-store renaissance. They’ve mastered the art of brand consistency through prototype development and rollout, as well as streamlining store layout to create an inviting shopper experience.

This 6,300 S.F. new store in Blanchester, OH was the first ever built “Commercial” prototype, a design that highlights UDF’s take on an industrial/contemporary style. The intent of using a “commercial” building is to respond to the context of a more urban environment. The project is unique in that previous UDF stores were built with wood framework, but this location was the first using a steel frame structure.

The interior palette is a balance of warm and cool tones, with the use of white and gray complementing the warm hues from the wood used throughout. It’s a theme that promotes modernity and cleanliness, that also doesn’t compete with the bright colors of UDF’s logo and other established brand elements.

The design configuration separates the point-of-sale from the service line to improve functionality and efficiency throughout the store. Patrons ordering food at the service line can use the self-order kiosk and receive their food without interrupting patrons with the intent to buy gas or other shelf products at the point of sale. Overall, this design creates a better traffic pattern throughout the store in a way that maximizes revenue potential and shopper experience.
